In 1992 was founded JADE – European Confederation of Junior Enterprises. In that process, several countries were involved in which Portugal was one of them. After a decreasing period of the national movement, 2005 marks a turning point to the Portuguese Junior movement with the creation of JADE Portugal and making it a JADE member. This was only possible because a group of committed persons and committed JE’s made an effort for the creation. There was also a great contribution from JADE which made us some visits to promote the International concept.
It was in 2005 that Europe deliberates to adopt measures in the knowledge and innovation fields as factors of competitiveness. The strategy was internationally known as “Lisbon Agenda”.
It will be in 2008 that JADE Portugal will have the culmination of a continuous hard working strategy and committed junior enterprises and junior entrepreneurs. Till that time, we are expecting to have this year’s goals reached, with projects tested and implemented so that Junior Enterprises could afford that advantage from executive tools which will exponentially increase their competitiveness and quality as companies.
The organization of World Conference means a great investment in a young, dynamic and innovative National Federation. That gives us the power to catalyze those factors in the creation of synergies in the National and International movement in this event.
The know-how that was acquired during the past years with National Congress, Iberian Meeting, several workshops and many other encounters, gives us the confidence to say that we are now more prepared than ever.
With the organization of JEWC 2008 in Portugal, we hope that we can improve the International networking, infuse an entrepreneurial spirit, to celebrate partnerships between Junior Enterprises of different countries and also to strengthen the ties that link JADE and Brazil.
For this reasons, JADE Portugal applied to the organization of Junior Enterprise World Conference in 2008 in Portugal. We believe that the country, the city and the National movement gather all the conditions to offer to all Junior Entrepreneurs an unforgettable event to all the participants.
We hope you can all enjoy the Portuguese country, the Portuguese people and the Portuguese folklore so that you can visit us more often. Here in JADE Portugal, there will always be one open door and two open arms to receive you all.
